For this weekend only, take part in one of a kind art exhibition and workshops on Saturday 4 March 9.30am – 5.30pm and Sunday 5 March 9.00 am – 1.30pm. by highly talented German artists, Hans Langner – known as birdman – and Jens Mohr. Watch them create their incredible art pieces, whilst gaining a deep insight into their unconventional and unique work right here in Malta. It will be their pleasure to give budding artists hints and tips on how to create an exceptional piece of art.

Both Hans and Jens have enjoyed international success and recognition for their high quality work, which without a doubt contains talent, emotion, technical precision, intricacy and a good old dose of imagination.

The self-taught German artist birdman – Hans Langner started his artistic career almost 30 years ago. For over two decades his works have been exhibited numerous times in galleries in Europe, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and China. They can be found in private collections and in museums. As well as this, his works have been published in a number of books and other artistic publications.

Hans Langner transformed in 1996 as at one of his artistic performances in Hong kong from a human into a bird, when a journalist called him „The birdman of Hongkong“. This comment fundamentally changed his artistic work. Since that day, birds have been his motif.

For past two years, birdman, Hans Langner dedicated his time mainly to painting on old and antique tapestries and goblins. He says: “I make the invisible birds visible, which have always been hidden in the tapestries and goblins, by painting the background”. Langner, creates exceptional and absolute unique artworks through this technique.

Jens Mohr, has also spent many years teaching himself everything he knows about art. His artwork whilst working in Malta has been created from pieces he found for sale at flea markets in Birgu and Ta’ Qali. His work is indeed humorous and extremely quirky. When in Bonn, Jens works out of his studio and his work also sells internationally.

The exhibition and workshops have been brought to you by WH Partners in association with Marie Gallery 5.
