Circular to Credit Institutions and branches on changes to submissions of ITS on Supervisory Reporting Data

On 22 March 2019, the Malta Financial Services Authority (the “MFSA”) issued a circular addressed to credit institutions and its branches in relation to submitting ITS on Supervisory Reporting data to the MFSA (the “Circular”). 

A summary of the requirements are as follows:

Reporting Requirements

Beginning on 3 April 2019, all credit institutions and branches shall be required to consult Guidelines to CRDIV Supervisory Reporting Requirements document and use the applicable templates contained therein when submitting supervisory reporting modules to the MFSA.

 XBRL file naming convention

In relation to Circular on requirements with regards to IT solutions for submission of Supervisory Reporting, credit institutions and branches are required to submit a validated XBRL file simultaneously with every module (re)submission pursuant to the requirements stated in the Circular.

Zip file naming convention

Beginning on 3 April 2019, institutions are now required to add the 20-character legal entity identifier (“LEI”) at the end of the currently applicable naming convention for the name of any zip file module (re)submitted to the MFSA.

Submissions and resubmissions

All supervisory reporting modules must be submitted to the MFSA using the LH Portal and all institutions shall adhere to submission deadlines stated in the Remittance Timetable.
