An eGR poll this week confirmed that an overwhelming majority (65%) of that publication’s readers say they are ready for the opening of the Spanish market, while more than a third (35%) said they are unprepared. eGR is an English language publication with a worldwide readership amongst those active or interested in the remote gambling market.
The Spanish gambling regulator has indicated the 31st of March as the day by when licenses would be handed out. That date will also be the end of the “moratorium” on the application of criminal sanctions under Spain’s gambling law. Operators ought to be aware of potential liability under this law which carries sanctions of up to 50m euro.
