Associate Lawyer – Tax

We are currently seeking to recruit an Associate to join our Tax team and provide legal and advisory services relating to Maltese direct and indirect taxation.

The Job

As an Associate within our Tax team, you will be expected to handle a wide range of tax-related responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Providing tax, legal, and business advisory services to clients, ensuring their best interests are met in line with the Firm’s high standards of practice;
Acting as a key contributor within the Firm’s Tax Practice Group by sharing knowledge and experience – particularly in areas of tax law – with the Firm’s partners and employees;
Offering tax advisory support in commercial transactions, with a focus on interpreting Maltese and EU VAT laws, as well as Maltese direct tax laws;
Advising on tax-related legal matters in transactional, contentious, and strategic planning contexts, as required;
Contributing to the development of the Firm’s expertise and reputation in tax and related legal areas, while supporting business development efforts;
Promoting a collaborative, team-oriented environment in line with the Firm’s core values.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

A Degree in Law;
A Diploma or Masters’ degree in Tax Law will be considered an asset;
A minimum of two years’ experience working in tax advisory;
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English;
The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines independently.
