Client Accountant

An opportunity has arisen to join the firm as a Client Accountant, managing a portfolio of diversified clients operating within various industries including gaming and fintech, and assisting with the continued growth and success of the Accountancy and Tax Compliance Services Department.
The Job
This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and delivering timely financial reports and insights to clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of client companies, ensuring accurate and timely accounting deliverables
  • Maintaining day-to-day bookkeeping records and performing periodic reconciliations (bank, intercompany, control accounts)
  • Preparing management accounts and supporting schedules on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
  • Assisting with or preparing year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Acting as the main point of contact for accounting-related client queries, providing clear and practical support
  • Liaising with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other third parties as required
  • Supporting clients with financial information requests
  • Ensuring proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring all client obligations are met in a timely manner
  • Identifying issues, discrepancies, or risks and escalating proactively with proposed solutions
  • Assisting with internal process improvements and contributing to best-practice accounting procedures
  • Providing guidance or support to junior team members
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant, or in the final stages of completing the ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, including at least 1 year in a corporate or client-focused accounting role
  • Highly proficient in English and with Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance requirements, including VAT returns and related statutory filings
  • Knowledge of accounting software (ideally Xero) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent client relationship building skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
