Head of Finance

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Finance to lead and oversee the finance function across the WH entities. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of financial operations, reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and governance requirements across the Group.

The Job

Reporting directly to the Managing Partner and CEO, the successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with the ability to manage day-to-day financial activities while contributing to the Group’s strategic growth, operational transformation, governance initiatives, and ongoing expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day finance operations across the Group and its entities
Ensure accurate accounting records, reconciliations, invoicing, payments, and month-end reporting
Prepare management accounts, financial reports, forecasts, KPIs, and financial analysis
Monitor cash flow, budgets, costs, and overall financial performance
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities
Ensure timely submission of VAT returns, tax information, and statutory obligations
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives
Assist management with profitability analysis, financial risk assessment, and strategic decision-making
Drive improvements in financial systems, automation, controls, and reporting processes
Support finance transformation and standardisation initiatives across multiple jurisdictions
Strengthen financial governance, compliance, and internal control frameworks
Collaborate with operational teams and support the development of the finance function and team members

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Strong technical accounting and financial management knowledge
Be capable of operating in a hands-on and fast-paced environment
Demonstrate excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Be capable of managing both operational detail and strategic initiatives simultaneously
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Have experience working within professional services, corporate services, legal, financial services, or multi-entity group structures
Demonstrate experience in financial systems, process optimisation, and financial transformation initiatives
Be capable of managing competing priorities and supporting a growing and evolving business environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Warranted Accountant in Malta
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a senior finance role
- Experience managing finance operations across multiple entities and/or jurisdictions will be considered an asset
- Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and operational finance platforms will be considered advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of financial reporting obligations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
