Junior Accountant
An opportunity has arisen to join the firm as a Junior Accountant, managing a portfolio of diversified clients and supporting team members within the department. Key responsibilities include maintaining financial records, managing payroll requirements, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
The Job
This position offers an excellent pathway for developing foundational accounting skills and gaining practical experience across a range of accounting functions.
- Act as the primary accounting point of contact for assigned clients;
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system, including basic bookkeeping duties and posting of invoices and payments;
- Update and manage general ledger entries;
- Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements, credit card transactions and accounts;
- Ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly;
- Provide support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports;
- Assist in the drawing up of balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements;
- Coordinate with auditors and support the year-end audit process;
- Process end-to-end payroll for client employees on a monthly basis;
- Prepare supporting documents for tax filings;
- Assist in ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Requirements
The preferred candidate for this role:
- Currently pursuing an Accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA or equivalent);
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping;
- Working knowledge of Payroll is considered an asset;
- Highly proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with Xero and Talexio is a plus;
- Positive attitude, proactive approach, and strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
