Junior Tax Accountant
An opportunity has arisen to join the firm as a Junior Tax Accountant, supporting the continued growth and success of the tax compliance team. The role will focus on assisting with routine tax compliance work, developing core technical skills, and gaining practical experience under the guidance of senior team members.
The Job
As Junior Tax Accountant you will be expected to handle a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to
- Support clients across various industries with the preparation of income tax computations, preparation and submission of Malta income tax returns, tax refund claims, and other relevant tax documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely filing in line with regulatory requirements
- Assist the tax team with tax transactions and provide guidance on proper tax compliance
- Stay up to date with changes in Malta tax legislation and provide informed advice
- Liaise with Malta tax authorities on behalf of clients
- Consistently promote a collaborative, team-oriented approach in alignment with the Firm’s values
Requirements
The preferred candidate for this role should possess:
- ACCA qualified, or currently working towards ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ experience in an Accounts focused role; previous experience in a Malta tax compliance position would be considered an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English
- Detail-oriented, with proven strength in maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to professional growth
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly MS Excel
