Olga Finkel is widely regarded, respected for her knowledge of gambling and technology law and for advising on some of the most innovative and significant corporate M&A and finance transactions in the industry.

Olga provides advice on strategic, commercial and regulatory matters to businesses across a range of industries. Her specialisation, backed by extensive experience,  includes a particular focus on corporate transactions (M&A), complex cross-border debt and equity financing arrangements at all stages of the corporate lifecycle. She has deep experience advising on regulatory frameworks applicable to e-gambling, emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, digital platforms, privacy and data security, electronic communications networks and services, as well as intellectual property, technology transactions (procurement, outsourcing and transfer) and software licensing. Olga is also active in related areas, such as AML compliance. 

Olga is ranked as a top-tier gambling lawyer world-wide by Chambers & Partners Global. She is also ranked in the Corporate/Commercial practice area in Malta by Chambers Europe. Olga is listed as a Global Elite Thought Leader in Gaming by Who’s Who Legal, a distinction achieved by only around 5% of WWL-listed practitioners and recommended in Data Privacy & Protection, Data Security and Information Technology by the same publication.

Olga is a lecturer in gaming law at the University of Malta and she practises law in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Maltese.

Olga holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Malta as well as a Master of Science degree in IT and Economics from the Academy of Economics, Kharkov, Ukraine.  She was admitted to the Bar in Malta in 2001 and is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates.  She is also a member of Society for Computers and Law (UK), of the International Technology Law Association (based in the US), Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, as well as a long standing member of the International Masters of Gaming Law and of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys.

Advising Umnai Ltd, a deep-tech company, which has developed a new ground-breaking neuro-symbolic architecture for explainable hybrid artificial intelligence (XAI), breaking through the limitations of the current prevailing AI technology with the formulation of submissions for US, Canada, Europe via PCT patents and Taiwan patents. In total, she has assisted Umnai with the application for over 50 patents, out of which 30 have been now granted in the USA, Canada and Taiwan
